In addition to the Deux-Montagnes/Sainte-Marthe-sur-le-Lac Intermunicipal Fire Safety Service, the 50 feet wide breach caused by the rupture of the permanent dyke required the presence of all police officers from the Régie de Police du Lac des Deux-Montagnes and some 1000 firefighters from 30 fire safety services across Quebec over the 33-day emergency measures period. In addition, six municipal police services, 100 police officers from the Sûreté du Québec’s Mascouche station and soldiers based in Deux-Montagnes responded to the emergency call and contributed to the rescue of residents and evacuations.
