2018 budget

On December 14th, the municipal administration of Deux-Montagnes presented the budget for 2018.The average increase in the tax rate for the residents will be for a fifth consecutive year, below the level of inflation.

Indeed, for 2018, the impact on the average tax bill results in a 1% increase for a residence of average value, under the projected inflation.

The increase in the “public transit” portion of the tax bill is due to the contribution to the new Agence régionale de transport métropolitain (ARTM). This agency is billing an additional $ 100,000 for 2018 to the City of Deux-Montagnes without adding any services.

Another important element to highlight is the sharp drop in debt that has helped to lower the impact of financing costs on the operating budget by 20% since 2013. This sound debt management also allows the City of Deux-Montagnes to prevent the effects of possible increases of the interest rate.

Started since the fall of 2013, the City of Deux-Montagnes continues its approach, an impressive recovery of its finances to ensure the durability and the quality of its public services offers.

The Mayor of Deux-Montagnes, Denis Martin, would like to thank the city councilors and employees of the City who have worked hard to present a balanced and rigorous budget that respects the budget of the citizens while maintaining excellent services.
