Water flood monitoring: the City of Deux-Montagnes takes precautions

Considering the current level of  Lac des Deux Montagnes, which is near the minor flood threshold (according to the measures of the “Vigilance site: flood monitoring” of the Ministry of Public Security), and given the abundant rains announced for the next few days, the city will proceed tomorrow morning with the installation of a temporary dyke.

Preventatively, we will deploy 1,700 waterproof concrete blocks along the Lac des Deux-Montagnes using a flexible polyethylene membrane. The geomembrane is weighted in front and on the block structure using sandbags.

Rest assured that our teams and the emergency services, in collaboration with the Civil Security and several experts, monitor the situation continuously and take action.

More information will follow tomorrow.
