Fire Safety

The Deux-Montagnes / Sainte-Marthe-sur-le-Lac intermunicipal fire department serves a population of more than 35,000 and covers an area of approximately 16 square kilometers. Every year, the Fire Safety Department responds to more than 600 calls for intervention on the territory as well as additional aid in some neighboring cities.

Fire prevention and public education are the basis of the Fire Department, which consists of preventing, educating, advising, regulating and intervening to ensure the safety of citizens.

The involvement of the Fire Safety Service is reflected, among other things, by the smoke alarm audit program and the Service’s participation in various activities throughout the year. A large number of activities are created for young people as soon as they enter daycare in order to make informed citizens and promote the development of good habits with fire safety.
