Tree branch pick-up: service now offered from April 15 to November 15.

Deux-Montagnes, September 10, 2020 – From now on, the tree branch pick-up service will be offered from April 15 to November 15 of each year.

During the winter, many branches that need to be picked up end up frozen and stuck in citizen’s flowerbeds, which complicates collection operations and occasionally leads to damage to landscaping.  For these reasons and for other considerations related to the efficiency of operations, this service will no longer be offered during the winter period.

In the event of an episode of ice or strong winds resulting in numerous broken branches on private property, the City will ensure that a special collection is organised throughout its territory.

Deposit open all year round

It is important to know that citizens can always come and drop off their tree branches themselves at the municipal garage all year round, AT NO COST. The depot’s business hours are Monday to Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., as well as Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Proof of residence will be required.

How to take advantage of the branch pick-up service?

  • For a certain cost (variable according to quantity), citizens of Deux-Montagnes can have their branches picked up at home  by registering directly with the Public Works Department : 450 473-2796, option 1.
  • The branches must be placed on the citizen’s property,  at the edge of the street and parallel to it (in the direction of road traffic).
  • Branches should  not exceed 8 feet in length and should NOT be tied.
  • Please note: branches placed in a jumble will not be picked up.
