Reconstruction of part of chemin d’Oka and 26th Avenue: work to start on August 8, 2022

Deux-Montagnes, July 27, 2022 – The City of Deux-Montagnes announces the reconstruction of the chemin d’Oka, between 20th Avenue and the limit of Sainte-Marthe-sur-le-Lac, as well as the reconstruction of 26th Avenue, between chemin d’Oka and the shore of Lac des Deux Montagnes. Work will begin on Monday, August 8, and will run until mid-November (approximately).

Work on chemin d’Oka will consist of replacing valve chambers on the aqueduct main, repairing sidewalks and rebuilding the roadway. Repaving work will also be carried out on a portion of 26th Avenue, south of Chemin d’Oka.

Detour routes and local traffic

  • Local traffic will be allowed and detour signs will be installed.
  • The boat ramp at the end of 26th Avenue will remain accessible, except for certain periods when the Avenue needs to be closed for a short time. Citizens are invited to regularly consult the  Public Works Info  section of the website.
  • Armitage Park will be accessible to pedestrians and cyclists. Citizens who are used to getting there by car will have to park in the surrounding streets. However, the City strongly encourages Armitage Park users to get there by foot or by bike during the work. Flaggers will ensure traffic at the intersection. Also, considering the heavy machinery that will be circulating all around Armitage Park, parents are called upon to be extra vigilant towards the little ones who run and play in the park.

The city of Deux-Montagnes wishes to thank the citizens in advance for their patience and cooperation. The City will make every effort to minimize the impact of the works.
