Gradual reopening of City services to the public

Deux-Montagnes, May 21, 2020 – As of May 25, the City will welcome citizens to the City Hall, the Public Works Department and the Urban Planning Department. The Library and the Leisure Department will remain closed to the public until further notice.

To protect citizens and provide a safe working environment for municipal employees, a series of measures have been put in place:

  • At the entrance of the buildings, visitors are required to disinfect their hands with disinfectant gel available to the public.
  • A physical distance of 2 meters must be observed between each individual. Stickers have been installed on the floor in several areas to facilitate the respect of this instruction.
  • Transparent acrylic panels have been installed at the different receptions desk.
  • Throughout the City’s buildings, maintenance measures have been reinforced to intensify the disinfection of surfaces conducive to contagion.
  • No cash payments will be accepted until further notice.

Citizens who wish to do business with the City but wish to limit their travel are invited to contact the direct departments by phone at 450 473-2796 or by using the online request and comment form

Municipal Court

Limited access to citizens is maintained for the Municipal Court, in particular for appearances (behind closed doors) and for the payment of fines.  Guidelines to limit the spread of the virus are enforced (hand disinfection at the reception desk, serving one citizen at a time, etc.)

Library Services

Although the library is closed to the public, a variety of online resources are available through the library’s website .  Also, in order for more citizens to benefit from the library’s digital resources, it is possible to obtain a temporary subscription by phone at 450 473-2796, ext. 5228. The library’s telephone services are open Monday to Thursday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., as well as Friday from 9 a.m. to noon.

Opening of the tennis courts

The tennis courts, located at Olympia Park, are now open for singles play. Therefore, a maximum of two people can be on the court. For the safety of everyone regarding Covid-19, a series of instructions must be followed by players wishing to access the tennis courts. For more details, click here
