Fireworks and open-air fires are prohibited

Deux-Montagnes, June 22, 2020 The Service de sécurité incendie de Deux-Montagnes / Sainte-Marthe-sur-le-Lac reminds citizens that fireworks and open air fires are prohibited, according to the municipal by-law concerning public nuisances.

The Service de sécurité incendie de Deux-Montagnes / Sainte-Marthe-sur-le-Lac Fire Department would like to point out that this is a matter of safety for people and property. Currently, due to the drought, the risk of fire is increased.

The public is invited to contact 911 directly in order to report situations contravening this prohibition.

Outdoor fireplaces

With respect to outdoor fireplaces, the Service de sécurité incendie de Deux-Montagnes / Sainte-Marthe-sur-le-Lac is asking citizens not to use outdoor wood-burning fireplaces in order to limit the risk of fire, and this, until the SOPFEU lifts the ban in effect in the MRC of Deux-Montagnes.
