Cancellation of Neighbours’Day and other summer events

Deux-Montagnes, June 3, 2020 – The City of Deux-Montagnes announces the official cancellation of its Neighbours’ Day neighbourhood celebration, which were scheduled for Saturday, June 6, as well as the cancellation of its summer events with large gatherings.

This decision is being made in order to comply with the provincial government’s directive to cancel all public sporting and cultural events until August 31. In addition to Neighbours’ Day, the following events will therefore not be held in Deux-Montagnes this summer: Canada Day, Celebration of Deux-Montagnes en fête and the Family Run.

“We are very saddened by this situation. Events such as Neighbours’ Day and Deux-Montagnes en fête contribute to the dynamism of our City and their holding reinforces our community spirit. In any case, the health of our population is a priority, we must all preserve the health of our loved ones and collectively continue our efforts to defeat this COVID-19 pandemic,” said Deux-Montagnes Mayor Denis Martin.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the City of Deux-Montagnes has been following the evolution of the situation on a day-to-day basis. Citizens are invited to regularly visit the City’s Web site for any other announcements regarding its activities and services offered, resulting from the most recent government directives.
