Deux-Montagnes, September 18, 2020 – Due to a setback from our supplier, the delivery of the new blue recycling bin is postponed to the week of October 5, i.e. a two-week postponement on the schedule announced on September 10.
Remember that this standardization of the recycling bin across the city aims to improve collection operations and to prevent the contents of the wrong bin from ending up among recyclable materials. From now on, ONLY the blue bin will be picked up by the service provider during the recycling collection. In addition to improving environmental practices, this will also represent cost savings resulting from better management of residual materials.
Citizens who already have a blue bin will keep it.
DELIVERY SCHEDULE
Delivery of the new recycling bin will take place during the week of October 5, i.e. immediately after the collection truck has passed in order to recover the current bins emptied of their contents. Delivery will therefore be made by collection sectors.
IMPORTANT NOTE : On delivery, green bins, or bins with a green lid, will be collected in exchange for the blue bin. Therefore, we are asking for the cooperation of citizens to place the green bin (or one with a green lid) at the curb on the morning of the collection in the week of September 21, filled with recyclable materials and not rubbish. If you do not have a green bin, or if you have any additional questions on this subject, do not hesitate to contact the Public Works Department at 450 473-2796, option 1.
- Tuesday, October 6: delivery in sector 2
- Wednesday, October 7: delivery in sector 1
- Thursday, October 8: delivery in sector 3
- Friday, October 9: delivery in sector 4
Remember that this roll-out bin is the property of the City of Deux-Montagnes, like the other bins it provides. Therefore, it is prohibited to affix any sticker or write anything on it except the address in the white space provided for this purpose on the side of the bin.
