Waste materials : modified collection shedule

Deux-Montagnes, April 3, 2019 – With the beginning of organic waste collection every Monday as of April 1, the schedule and frequency of recycling and waste collection has been modified. Household waste collection is now every second week, alternating with the collection of recyclable materials.

Organic waste collection helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions

The City of Deux-Montagnes is now collecting waste organic matter as of April 1. Your participation helps to reduce the amount of waste that goes into landfills each year by diverting green and organic waste to compost instead. Saturday, April 6: Collection of used electronic devices AND hazardous household waste

Don’t forget that on the first Saturday of the month from April to November residents can bring their used electronic devices AND hazardous household waste to the Deux-Montagnes municipal garage depot at 625 20e Avenue between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm.

 

Examples of hazardous household waste that pose a risk to your health and the environment when not properly disposed of:

– Ink cartridges

– Used oil

– Medications

– Chemicals (including acid, glue, thinner, cleaner, and solvent)

– Propane

Thursday, April 18: Collection of bulky waste

Bulky waste collection is scheduled in all residential areas on the third Thursday of the month between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm. Please place bulky waste at the edge of your property after 7:00 pm on the night before.

Examples of bulky waste:

– Furniture

– Swimming pools (rolled-up liners and parts bundled together)

– Pool filters (empty of contents)

– Patio furniture

– Barbecues

– Dishes and household items (packed in boxes)

 

Please note that renovation materials and demolition debris are NOT considered as bulky waste, but rather as dry materials to be disposed of at the designated depot. Fees apply based on the volume of materials unloaded.

Opening hours for the dry materials and debris depot:

Monday to Thursday: 8:30 am to 11:30 am and from 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm

Friday: 8:00 am to 11:30 am
