The City of Deux-Montagnes is waiving penalties and interest on tax accounts

Deux-Montagnes, March 26, 2020  – In times of crisis related to pandemic Covid-19, the City of Deux-Montagnes is waiving penalties and interest until June 30, 2020, on unpaid sums of any tax, transfer duties, etc., due for the current year.

“This measure is taken to provide residents and businesses with the flexibility to manage their cash flows during the COVID-19 outbreak. Many citizens are affected financially by the latest measures put in place by the government to limit the spread of the virus. We hope that this news will slightly reduce the financial pressure felt by many families during this difficult time, ” said Mayor Denis Martin.

Note that the dates of the next installments remain the same : May 14, July 9 and October 8.

People who have already sent post-dated checks and who wish to change the cashing date must contact the Finance Department directly at 450 473-2796, option 6. Failure to do so, checks will be cashed on the date initially entered.

However, the City encourages those who do not experience financial difficulties to continue making their payments as planned.
