Awards for the Fleurir Deux-Montagnes Contest

Winners of the 27th edition of the Deux-Montagnes Flowering Contest were announced yesterday at Veterans Hall, which was decorated with sunflowers in shades of yellow. Once again, the finalists’ creativity and love of nature made quite an impression on the jury. The event, organized by City horticulturist Mélissa Brault, was attended by the acting-Mayor Mrs. Karine Gauthier also councilor of the Du Lac district, and her colleagues city councilors, jury members and the (19) finalists and theirs guests.

This year’s Beautification Committee, consisting of Mélissa Brault, Claudine Lalande, Léonne Raby, Lucie DeVido and Daniel Allouche, combed the City this summer in search of the most attractive landscaping. All residences were automatically entered to boost the number of participants and encourage people to develop their green awareness through landscaping. This year’s evaluation criteria focused on diversity and originality, environmental sustainability, integration of amenities, the landscape’s overall appearance, and plant arrangement.

As usual, three residences were selected for each of the City’s six districts, while other prizes were awarded under the categories Green Garden of the Future and Horticulturists’ Pick.

The popular event relied once again on the support of generous local sponsors who contributed to the success of the contest and the joy of prize winners. The organization team would like to congratulate the winners and thank all its partners, and is looking forward to inviting the public to the next edition of the Deux-Montagnes Flowering Contest!
