Wishing to pursue and to improve unifying activities for the community, the City presented, at the press conference June 27th, the Activities Program of a second edition of the Deux-Montagnes en fête 2016. This celebration will be held from July 15th to July 17th.
A press conference was held last June 27th at the city hall to announce a remarkable family, cultural and sporting event. The goal is to create an annual unifying event to raise awareness of our beautiful City of Deux-Montagnes.
Present at this press conference was a group of person representing city’s shop owners and different organism implicated in the festivities.
Also, the artist of La Voix 2015: who will make the first part of the night show on Saturday, July 16th, Dominic Dagenais, Céleste Lévis and David Fleury, were also present and offered us a live song.
The public is invited to come and discover our beautiful city’s shops, attractions, and more particularly, the side-street areas off Chemin Oka, between 13th and 16th Avenues, where the festivities will take place.
Starting at 14 h 00 on July 16th, there will be street animation with your favorite super heroes, mini-farm, inflatable games, a series of show, car exhibition, a treasure hunt and more. There will also be drawings and interactive pavilions with the local store merchants and different community organism. Among the festivities, not to be missed, at 21 h 00 the evening show, featuring the artists of La Voix 2015 followed by King Melrose and his musicians.
The festivities will end by the new family race on Sunday, July 17th starting at 8:30 am at the Central park. Inscriptions can be made now via the City Web site or thru jikko.ca. In short, it’s a complete program that will appeal to all and undoubtedly mark the beginning of a tradition. Mayor Denis Martin commented: “On this occasion of our second edition of Deux-Montagnes en fête, we are convinced that this combination of activities on the same weekend will please every group age.”
Meanwhile, Municipal Councillor, Madame Micheline Groulx-Stabile stated: “I am very happy to take part in the organization of these festivities as president of the organizing committee this year. We wish that this annual event brings better visibility to our city and a feeling of pride to our citizens.”
This event has had strong support from generous sponsors including the Deputy Member for Deux-Montagnes, Monsieur Benoit Charrette and finally, Deputy member for Rivière-des-Mille-Iles, Mrs. Linda Lapointe, Caisse Desjardins St-Eustache/Deux-Montagnes and Scène Studio Basto.
